About the Workshop

Our two-day candle making workshop is designed for anyone who loves candles and wants to create their own — no experience needed. You will learn everything from understanding wax types and fragrance blending to pouring, setting, and finishing your own candles to take home.

Whether you want to make candles for yourself, as gifts, or start your own small business — this workshop gives you the foundation, the skills, and the confidence to do it.

Course Outline

Day 1 — Foundations

• Introduction to candle making — history, types, and uses
• Understanding wax types: soy, paraffin, beeswax, and blends
• Wicks — choosing the right wick for your vessel and wax
• Fragrance oils vs essential oils — ratios, blending, and safety
• Colourants and dyes — techniques and combinations
• Equipment and safety guidelines
• Hands-on: pour your first container candle

Day 2 — Craft & Finishing

• Pillar and shaped candles — moulds and techniques
• Layering, embedding, and decorative finishes
• Scent throw — hot vs cold, testing and adjusting
• Labelling, packaging, and presentation
• Candle care and safety instructions for customers
• Basics of costing and pricing your candles
• Hands-on: create your signature candle to take home
